Understanding the New RealBristle Painting System in Corel Painter X

Tutorial by Karen Bonaker

From Sue Chastain, About.com

Over time, Painter has transformed us into a world where the traditional media artist can feel more at home on the digital canvas. Introduced in Painter X is the new RealBristle Painting technology. Painter Master Cher Threinen-Pendarvis developed the wonderful group of brushes that replicates traditional art media with incredible precision.

The brush variants in the category replicate the strokes you would come to expect if you were working with natural media paintbrushes. As the brushes move, the bristle will expand and bend in the direction of your brush strokes. You can see each individual bristle as it moves across you canvas. In this tutorial, we will explore these RealBristle brush variants in detail.
